The organizing team of the 5th Colombian Congress of Mammalogy is very pleased to present this book of abstracts, which compiles contributions on mammals from various Latin American countries. The active participation in the event, held in the eastern plains, specifically in Yopal, reflects the ongoing interest of the mammalogical community in finding spaces for the collective construction of knowledge about the mammals of Colombia and for building community and contributing to the country's development.
