Abstract
One of the most significant human activities in landscape transformation is urbanization, with dynamics influenced by mechanisms such as habitat simplification and changes in ecological interactions that can modify species' activity patterns of wildlife such as the common opossum (Didelphis marsupialis Linnaeus, 1758), characterized by its behavioral flexibility, nocturnal and solitary habits, and an opportunistic omnivorous diet. Its daily activity patterns were assessed in urban forest fragments in the northern area of Armenia, Quindío, Colombia, between April 22th and May 14th, 2024. With a sampling effort of 92 trap/nights, the activity pattern found for the species was classified as nocturnal-crepuscular. Further studies are suggested, as this species serves as a model for identifying the ecological factors that favor wildlife in disturbed urban forests.
