Abstract
A new photographic record of Garlepp's pampas cat is reported in Colombia, a species recently recorded for the first time in the country. The record was made about 3 km away from the last record of the cat in conserved dry thorny scrub vegetation. This is an important fact because this is the first documented record of a living pampas cat in the Patía River valley area. The importance of social media monitoring to detect these rare and important records is also highlighted.
