Abstract
This note reports a new field record of the presence of Tremarctos ornatus in Urumita, south of La Guajira, border with Venezuela. The report is represented by the finding of fresh faeces in a wooded sector of Cerro Pintao. Additionally, we documented some anecdotal records of sightings of the species by local residents in the municipality of Villanueva. These sightings were made outside the limits of the Cerro Pintao Regional Natural Park, more data and more field effort are needed to reevaluate the limits of this protected area.
