In honor of March 8 and in line with the commitment of the Colombian Society of Mastozoology (SCMas) and Mammalogy Notes to promote and guarantee the inclusion in the study of the mammals of Colombia and the world, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new permanent editorial section. This initiative aims to highlight the work of researchers and students whose study focus is related to mammals.
In this editorial section, we will strive to present the work of at least two researchers per issue, in order to provide a space where can learn more about the various activities they carry out in their respective research areas. In this way we intend to promote the dissemination of research and results both nationally and internationally, thus providing a platform for students and researchers to find a place to share their findings. We hope that, through inspiring examples, those in training will feel motivated to participate more actively both in the Colombian Society of Mastozoology and in our journal.
We hope that these initiatives, together with others planned for the future, will contribute to reducing the participation gap between male and female researchers, a crucial aspect to promote equitable development of science in Colombia.
